Carlos Mario Arango

Carlos Mario Arango is Senior Associate Advisor of SDCompass. He is responsible for business valuation, project evaluation, and financial modeling works for infrastructure and renewable energy projects and deals in Latin America.

He has more than 20 years of experience in financial modelling and structuring, and has been an advisor to important public entities in structuring infrastructure projects. In Colombia, he has advised entities such as the National Infrastructure Agency – ANI, Transmilenio, the National Planning Department – DNP, and the National Development Finance Institution – FDN. He has also advised multilateral banks such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) in project evaluation in Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Bolivia and Colombia, with a focus on infrastructure and energy.

He evaluated infrastructure projects in Argentina (Electric Power Generator), in Mexico (Mass Transportation System of Guadalajara), in Honduras and Salvador (Electric Power Generators), in Bolivia (Electric Power Generators), and Colombia (Integrated Public Transport System – SITP Bogotá, Co-Adviser for Megabus, Evaluation of Solid Waste Project in Pereira, Evaluation of National Post System, Evaluation of Rail Road Projects in the Central Railway Line and the Western Railway Line, among others). He was Investment Banking Manager at the Colombian financial institution Corficolombiana.

He is an Industrial Engineer and MBA with a concentration in Finance from Universidad de los Andes. Resides in Bogotá – Colombia.
